On the morning of December 25, Mr. Nguyen Chanh Thanh – Chairman of Duc Thanh Import-Export Garment Co., Ltd. – joined the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Veterans Association of My Thoi Ward to officially commence the construction of two ‘Soldier’s Gratitude’ houses.

As part of the “Military-Civilian Tet 2026” event series, on the morning of December 25, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of My Thoi Ward, in collaboration with the Ward Veterans Association, solemnly held the groundbreaking ceremony for two “Soldier’s Gratitude” houses. These homes are dedicated to the families of active-duty soldiers facing housing difficulties in the local area. The ceremony was attended by Ms. Vuong Mai Trinh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the My Thoi Ward People’s Committee.

The two houses are being built for the families of soldier Vo Van Duc (currently serving at Brigade 962) and soldier Nguyen Hoang Phu (currently serving at Brigade 950) under Military Region 9. Each house will cover an area of $64m^2$, designed to meet the “3-Hard” criteria (hard foundation, hard frame, and hard roof) to ensure long-term stability for the soldiers’ families.

The total construction cost for both houses is estimated at over 270 million VND. This meaningful project received significant support from Duc Thanh Garment System and partners, specifically:

  • Mr. Nguyen Chanh Thanh (Chairman of Duc Thanh Import-Export Garment Co., Ltd): 60 million VND.

  • Duc Thanh 2 Import-Export Garment Co., Ltd: 20 million VND.

  • Duc Thanh 3 Import-Export Garment Co., Ltd: 20 million VND.

  • Thanh Binh Trade and Service Co., Ltd: 120 million VND.

  • The construction contractor: 10 million VND.

  • The remaining balance contributed by the soldiers’ families.

Following the ceremony, local leaders and sponsors performed the groundbreaking ritual to officially begin construction in Hoa Thanh Hamlet, My Thoi Ward. This initiative reflects the profound care and practical support of the local government, organizations, and individuals for the military’s rear services. It serves as a great encouragement for soldiers to remain dedicated to their duties, fulfilling their mission with peace of mind and upholding the noble qualities of “Uncle Ho’s Soldiers” in the new era.
